In 2013, God began to work in the leadership at New Valley as well as a number of families to begin a church-planting work in downtown Phoenix. The downtown area was beginning to expand and increasingly become a place where people wanted to live, work, and play—making it a great place for gospel-centered churches. Senior Pastor Scott Brown began gathering folks downtown and brought on a church-planter Greg Schneeberger to focus on Downtown specifically. Greg led the plant for a year and a half before taking a ministry call to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
In July of 2016, Gray Ewing transitioned from being an assistant pastor at New Valley Ahwatukee site, to being the church planter/lead pastor of New Valley Downtown. The leadership all sensed that it would be best for the church to a morning worship service so we began a long search for a venue that could be rented on Sunday mornings. After an extended period of praying and fasting, God answered prayer and we were able to move into our new building on 16th St./McDowell.
God is at work at New Valley Downtown. We continue to grow deep and wide, and we would love for you to be part of the next chapter of our story!
